General infos and rules
-
All entries should be submitted until the deadlines. However, if there are any REAL problems
just contact the compo crew and we'll fake a new deadline for you :)
- You can submit entries via network, floppy or CD-R/CD-RW. Please add a FILE_ID.DIZ with your Handle, your Group and the name of your production.
- If there are too few entries in a compo it will be cancelled and we'll inform all participants so that they can decide what to do. Of course you can release your entry on some other party then.
- For people who cannot come: You can add your entries, you have to mail it to one of the organizers until thursday before the party.
- One person can only submit one entry per compo.
We will have several competition machines for you and you can excessively test your stuff
until you're satisfied. In any emergency we probably also can use your hardware as long as you provide it. If you need any exotic stuff for your prod please deliver it with the package
but keep in mind, that it adds to the filesize limits!
If your entry does not work we will do our best to make it work ! We are not Assembly, where
you'll be disqualified when your demo does not autodetect the soundcard. If your demo needs
a reboot before it runs we will reboot the compo machine! If your demo needs 610k DOS-mem
we will try to get 610k DOS-mem! If your demo has a buggy sound-setup we will try all
possibilities to make the sound work! When you need DOS booted we will boot DOS!
We will not discriminate any platforms. If you make a DOS-demo, do it. We will also not tell
you at this place "try to make a windows demo, sucker !", we will accept everything. Just make it cool!
Except for the fun-competitions we will preselect and exclude lame entries from the compo.
As always, productions showing extreme violence or pornography will be disqualified as well.
If you have any comments or suggestions about the compos and rules do not hesitate to contact
us.
NOTE: DOS entries will be run in the DOS-box by default except for the case this won't work.
Please tell us if you have any special wishes concerning that !
All competition machines will have DOS4GW in path. BASS.DLL is most probably there, too, but
better still deliver it when your production needs it!
The configuration of the (main) compo machine is currently as follows (might change):
- Duron 700
- 256 megs of RAM
- GeForce II MX 32mb AGP
- Original ISA SoundBlaster 16

- OpenGL 1.2
There will be also at least one compo machine with Linux installed. It will have a current distribution installed. For quesitons concerning
Linux entries please contact either Ctulhu or Johnny (see "contact" section) in advance.
